Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson is an American actress who gained fame as the character Buffy Summers in the cult film Buffy the Vampire SlayerRebecca Becky Granger in the telefilm Nightingales as well as the brief-lived NBC show of the same nameErica Paget in the CBS the drama Early Edition and Marlowe Viccellio in Psych. Native to CalifornianSwanson developed an interest in acting as a child. She started working in the industry of advertising and appeared in many commercials. In 1984 she made her first appearance in a screen show of the sitcom by NBC, It's Your Move. The following year she appeared in the romantic comedic Pretty in Pink of 1986, she made her big-screen debut. Swan, who is renowned for her breathless voice and blonde hairlisp has been playing side roles in the last few years. In 1989 she won an award called the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a Horror or Mystery Motion Picture for Flowers in the Attic.
