The kids were in the crib and I was strapped with a baby to my back. Ha! The house was getting closer to finishing, but it was still a long way off. To complete this task I had planned to spend a considerable amount of money and spend time searching for the perfect home. In order to stay within budget, I began by taking my sons to estate sales in search of diamonds. It was our weekly routine of walking around auctions and garage sales on the weekend as well as purchase various of old pieces and new made. I'd spend my workdays on the drive painting or sanding. My passion for furniture restoration began when I saw a style similar to this. After our home was fully furnished, I could not stop! I had an area at the market where I sold items. Eventually I had more pieces that I could decide what to do with and had outgrown the space. Open houses were held in my home where one 000 visitors would pass through during a weekend. the visitors were able to purchase items on the first level. Growing Days was created in the home. The business wasn't just expanding, but so was our family of four. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wished to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days just fit. The year was 2013, and my lovely daughter Nora came along our 4th baby. My company was doing well however I needed a break. I opted to take a little breaks from my old furniture and stay at home with the kids. This was precisely what I was looking for at the time. It wasn't until a couple of months that my phone began to ring. They were asking for assistance with interior decorating and renovations. It was mostly those who came to my open home to purchase furniture. I started taking on some clients at a time taking my time but it didn't take for long to have several accounts, and I was operating an entire home improvement business. If you had told me that my business would be an idea for the DIY Network show, I would probably have been astonished. When I look at it, it has made me laugh.
