Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. She started her Broadway career with musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across stage film and television and she continues that award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford's current film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment proceeding in America in more than 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. The actress has also been in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Ashford has been born in Denver is now based in Los Angeles and New York.
